Like many MikroTik devices, this one was born out of necessity. Our video team needed a fast, cost-effective solution that would enable them to connect all the studio devices without the need for a dedicated rack – the studio has no extra space. They use the 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect all the equipment, computers, extra screens and recorders, and so on. Then the four combo ports go to other departments in case they need to transfer some footage for review. One 40 Gigabit line goes to the NAS media server and another 40 Gigabit line goes to the editor’s multimedia station where all the magic happens.
